Super Solvy™ 40 mil

The softer and bulkier the fabric, the easier stitches disappear into the material resulting in unsightly embroideries. Gunold's water soluble backing/topping film is your answer. Super Solvy™ has the same characteristics as the original Gunold Solvy™ water soluble topping but is twice as thick at 40 mil.

Gunold Solvy™ is trademarked because we found manufacturing processes that ensure a consistent water soluble film that is perfect from batch to batch. Many unique and desirable traits of Gunold's Solvy™ led Gunold to obtain the trademark on both Solvy™ and Gunold Solvy.

The most popular way to use Gunold Super Solvy™ is as a water soluble topping, placed or hooped on the top of the garment.  We recommend you hoop Super Solvy™ on  top of the embroidery fabric, or embroidery blank, prior to embroidering. Commercial embroidery operators love the ease of working with Super Solvy™ topping on high speed embroidery machines. Our Super Solvy™ ensures that every single stitch turns out brilliantly - even on intricate embroidery designs or on any deep pile fabric - the result is a detailed, needle sharp look.  Super Solvy™ works by holding the stitches above the fabric during the embroidery sewout process. Once you are done with the embroidery process, simply remove the remaining larger pieces of Super Solvy™ by gently tearing away from the design.  Smaller pieces can be easily removed by a spritz of water from a spray bottle.

Super Solvy™ can also be used as fabric backing when both sides of the embroidered product will be visible to the user.  You will get great results especially on scarves and towels.

Embroidery Hints and Tips using Gunold Solvy™ Water Soluble Backing

Place Super Solvy™ on the fabric to be embroidered. We recommend you hoop it together with the material!

After completing the embroidery, gently tear away topping along the edges of the design

Dissolve any residues in water.

If you don't want to wash the embroidered item to remove residual Super Solvy™ – wet a remnant piece of nonwoven backing and place it on the embroidery – then iron until completely dry. When you pull away the nonwoven, the Super Solvy™ will be removed without leaving any traces!
